Sorry, we are a closed aviary. We do not give tours of our avian breeders. This would greatly disturb the breeding birds.

They are housed in very large cages in our home, with 2 different size perches, a variety of toys, including a swing. They listen to a radio with soft music for about 10 hours a day. They have access to fresh air and fluorescent lighting with Vita Light bulbs [full spectrum]. Sunshine streams in through the screened windows.Our breeder birds have a pleasurable view of our back and side yard which has extensive landscaping including various fruit trees and perennial gardens, a working fountain and can see various species of birds and creatures. All my breeding birds are fed a main staple of either Roudybush Small Pellets or Nibbles in either Low fat or Maintenance, as well as other healthy alternatives, including my © 1993 Little Darlings Tails Up Seed Mix Recipe. During the breeding season, Roudybush Breeder is given in placement of their regular staple diet, as it is higher in calcium, protein and fat. This will ensure a healthy start to the parents laying eggs and in feeding the chicks.
Our birds are only allowed up to 2 clutches a year and rest and play for the balance of the year, until the next breeding season arrives. Sometimes, pairs may take a longer rest period of a year or more and then breed again when ready. We are a veterinarian approved aviary! We work closely with our AVIAN VET to be sure our breeders and chicks receive the best possible care! Even our avian vet acquired 2 of my little darlings for her family. To make sure that, all my breeder parrots are healthy, which in turn produces healthy parrot chicks. All new breeder parrots are put into quarantine for 60 days minimum and tests are run. They are not allowed into the breeding room until pronounced healthy.
